Cape Coral Pool Service
Pool service concept · Cape Coral

The brief
What we built.
A concept rebuild for a weekly pool service that has been working the Cape since 2003. A concept we built unprompted, to show what the site could be; not affiliated with the business.
- “Every pool on the Cape, kept crystal clear.” An aerial pool view and the water balance they aim for
- Their three-week service rotation shown on the pool itself, week by week
- Green pool recovery as its own offer, with day 1, 3 and 5 jars
- 15 pages across Cape Coral, Fort Myers and Punta Gorda
The numbers
Google Lighthouse, mobile, their site before and our concept after. Official Google PageSpeed (mobile) for the scores; local Lighthouse 13.5 for the detailed metrics · Local Lighthouse mobile (official PageSpeed not recorded) The SEO score is left out of the comparison: concepts are hidden from search engines, and that alone caps Google’s SEO score at 69.
The business
Who we were dealing with.
Pool maintenance company serving residential owners and property managers with weekly cleaning packages and repairs.
Their brand as it was
- Navy and royal blue with a wave-in-a-circle logo
- Gold script business name
- Template WordPress site
Worth knowing
- Weekly package uses a 3-week brush, brush, vacuum rotation; filter washed monthly, equipment checked weekly
- A team member is available 24/7 for emergencies
- Customers praise a late-night call answered and a timer fixed by text for free
- Accepts Venmo and Zelle
- Business name matches the town it serves
The research
How we studied the industry, top to bottom.
Why this business
- Chosen from 18 audited Lee County pool companies as pick number one
- Business name is the town's own name, in business since 2003
- No tap-to-call link anywhere on the whole site
- Local Lighthouse performance of 34
The industry
- Pool owners look for dependable weekly service, clear water chemistry and a fast answer when something goes wrong
- Green pools and leaks are urgent problems
- Florida pools are mostly in screened cages and need Florida-specific advice
The local market
- Cape Coral has about 400 miles of canals and many backyard pools
- Serves Cape Coral, Fort Myers and Punta Gorda
- About 18 local pool companies were audited; national franchises and lead-gen sites were skipped
- Candidate list of 18 Lee County pool companies with scores and first-screen problems
What we found
- No tap-to-call, and no headline, button or offer on the first phone screen
- No prices; Package 1 and Package 2 look almost identical
- FAQ copy written for cold climates
- Strong real reviews and the 3-week rotation are under-sold
The audit
What was holding it back.
Tested 2026-10-25 (official PageSpeed 2026-10-26)
- Local Lighthouse performance was 34 (official PageSpeed 58)
- First paint 3.1 s; main content (LCP) 12.2 s
- Blocking time 2,350 ms; layout shift 0.015
- Page weight 3.0 MB
- No tap-to-call link anywhere on the site; the number is plain text
- First phone screen: logo fills about 40%, then a menu and the number, with no headline, button or offer
- The only H1 is 'Pool Maintenance'
- No booking button above the fold; the only form is on the contact page
- FAQ warns about water freezing and snow on pool covers, which is canned northern copy
- Package 1 and Package 2 have nearly identical bullets and no prices
- Footer is a template vendor legal disclaimer with no year or hours
- Main content took over 12 s on a phone (local run)
Brand & design
The Cape from above direction.
The page is built on a stylised aerial dusk view of Cape Coral's canal grid with glowing backyard pools, linked by one thin coral route line like a service truck's weekly route. Dramatic art appears in only three places and the rest stays calm.
- Deep navy#0A1F33
- Canal blue#16507A
- Glowing pool aqua#5EE6F0
- Warm white#FBF8F2
- Pale sand#F4EBDD
- Coral accent#FF7A59
Type
- Bold condensed sans for headlines
- Clean sans for body
Signature moments
- Aerial canal hero with glowing pools and a coral route line
- Top-down pool with the 3-week rotation paths drawn on the water
- Green, cloudy, clear jar sequence ('Green pool? We bring it back')
- A 'this week's water test' card with four test pads
Imagery
- Generated art for the hero, rotation pool, jar sequence, service-area map, six service photos, a technician from behind, three city aerials and the share image
- Route line, icons, test-strip card, labels and map loop drawn in code as SVG and CSS
- No text in any image
5 directions in round 1 (A to E); D (Cape from above) won at 8.5, a calmer v2-D scored 9/10 and was locked for desktop; the mobile mockup scored 7.5 and the phone layout was done in code.
Under the hood
How it is built.
Built to convert
- Tap-to-call and free-quote buttons
- Sticky call and quote bar on mobile
- Pages for weekly cleaning, chemicals, green pool recovery, filters, leak detection and equipment
- City pages for Cape Coral, Fort Myers and Punta Gorda
- Weekly packages page explaining the 3-week rotation
- FAQ rewritten for Florida
- Reviews page and a contact and free-quote page
Built to rank
- Concept is noindex until the owner approves
- Dedicated city and service pages; page count is from the page plan in the art pack
Built to be fast
- Local Lighthouse performance went from 34 to 97
- Art limited to three places; the rest of the page is plain colour
Good to know
- SEO 69 is because the concept is noindex
- Official PageSpeed run on the concept was not recorded
- Social profiles unknown; Google rating not checked
- 'Not a franchise' claim dropped as unconfirmed
- A concept built unprompted: the business did not commission it, and the details (reviews, photos, prices) would be confirmed with the owner before any launch.
